THREE senior police officials, including the chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), were affected in the latest revamp in the police force ordered by PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

The new assignments took effect yesterday.

The latest revamp is the second under Marbil who assumed the top PNP post on April 1.

The first revamp, which took effect on April 26, affected four officials

In the latest reorganization, Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr, former CIDG director, was designated commander of the Area Police Command-Northern Luzon (APL-NL).

Caramat took over the post from Maj. Gen. Mafelino Bazar who served as APC-NL deputy officer-in-charge in concurrent capacity as the command’s acting commander.

Replacing Caramat in the CIDG is Maj. Gen. Leo Francisco.

Francisco’s former post of PNP director for investigation and detective management was given to Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.

No replacement for Baccay’s old post — PNP deputy director for personnel and records Management — has been announced.

Bazar, Caramat, Francisco, and Baccay are members of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1992.
