THE Archdiocese of Tuguegarao yesterday said it would cooperate in investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct against one of its priests in Cagayan.
It also said Fr Karole Reward Israel, who is assigned in a parish in Solana town, is “excused from the performance of his priestly obligations, except the obligation of prayer.”
Israel was arrested last week by NBI operatives in an entrapment operation in Solana, for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old volunteer church worker. He is now facing charges of sexual harassment, qualified seduction, violence against women and children, violation of anti-photo and video voyeurism law, and child abuse.
The Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, in a statement, said it will “fully cooperate with the prosecution service towards the conduct of an unbiased preliminary investigation.”
