OPERATIVES of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group rescued a Chinese kidnap victim and arrested one of his kidnappers during a raid in Angeles City, Pampanga on Tuesday night.

Citing reports reaching AKG chief Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, AKG spokesman Maj. Ronaldo Lumactod identified the rescued victim as Zeng Guioojang and the suspect as Xiong Xiong.

Lumactod said the operation was conducted hours after the kidnappers released another Chinese kidnap victim, Zhang Quixing, at a fastfood chain near Camp Crame, the PNP national headquarters in Quezon City, on Tuesday afternoon.

Zhang was kidnapped last August 29 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 in Paranaque, said Lumactod, citing information provided by the victim’s friend, Wang Dapeng.

Wang reported that the suspects demanded 20,000 RMB (P141,988) for the release of Zhang. Lumactod said Zhang was subsequently released after paying 16,300 RMB (P115,720) in ransom.

“The victim himself revealed the suspects were still at the place where he was held captive,” said Lumactod, referring to the suspect’s safehouse in Timog Park Subdivision , Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.

Lumactod said AKG operatives swooped down at the safehouse and rescued Zeng at around 9:30 p.m. The operation also resulted in the arrest of Xiong, who is said to be one of the kidnappers.

Lumactod said Zeng was abducted on August 31 in Pasig City.

Lumatod said Zhang and Zeng positively identified Xiong as among the five to 10 suspects who held them captive and maltreated them.

Meanwhile, operatives of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested two Koreans in separate operations in Metro Manila on Tuesday.
