Chinese kidnap victim rescued; 8 Chinese kidnappers nabbed

OPERATIVES of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group rescued a Chinese and arrested his eight kidnappers, four of them female, in Paranaque City on Wednesday, it was reported yesterday.

AKG chief Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo identified the rescued kidnap victim as Benqin Abo Zhang, 32, a native of Hunan, China temporarily residing at Unit 11, Garden 2, Bayview, in Pasay City.

The arrested suspects were Ming Li, 33; Guohua Li, 39; Guanping Zou, 41; Congcong Wang, 33; Ni Yue, 25; Min Wu, 24; Fangyu Liu, 29; and Zhaodi Fang, 29, all Chinese and residing in Pasay and Makati.

Police said Benqin was seized by the suspects at around 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Solaire Hotel and Casino in Paranaque City.

A hotel security officer, Rex Diongon, reported the incident to the AKG which promptly conducted an operation that led to the rescue of the victim on PITX Ave., Paranaque City.

Estomo said the victims’ hands were tied with packaging tape and he was blindfolded when rescued.

“The victim narrated to the operatives what happened to him and gave the description of the suspects and the vehicle being used by the suspects,” he said.
