THREE suspected carnappers, including a Chinese, were arrested by Paranaque police operatives last Wednesday.

A report from the Southern Police District identified the Chinese as Wen Zhang, 35, and his Filipino cohorts Bernard Guevarra and Billy Macanan.

They were nabbed in a follow-up operation by the Paranaque police at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eddie Boy Compound in Barangay San Isidro, Paranaque City.

Jerry Dela Pena, a local businessman, sought police assistance after the three went to the NJP Towing Services asking for the release of his Mitsubishi Pajero using falsified documents.

Initial investigation said the same suspects had earlier managed to secure the release of two motor vehicles that were impounded for traffic violation allegedly using falsified documents issued by the Parañaque Traffic Bureau on November 4 and 16, 2022.

Aside from the arrest of the three, police also recovered the two motor vehicles released to them using alleged falsified documents — a gray 2018 Mitsubishi Montero with plate number DAJ 8860 and a 2011 Lexus sedan with plate number PIR 118.

The three are detained at the Paranaque police station while charges of carnapping and falsification of public documents are being prepared against them.
