WHO does not want to plunge back to action?

Centro Escolar University coach Jeff Napa admitted the Scorpions are raring to play anew in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup but will have to cool their heels due to the health risks and uncertainties brought about by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

“Siyempre lahat naman gusto ng makabalik sa paglalaro,” Napa told Malaya-Business Insight yesterday.

“Okay naman kami sa CEU. Right now, dahil sa pandemic tapos rebuilding kami, almost four months na kaming nagvi-virtual practices through zoom,” he added.

The drastically disrupted season-opening tourney was suspended indefinitely since March 11 with only eight games played at the start of the government-imposed lockdown to curb the spread of the lethal virus.

Napa, who took over from veteran strategist Derrick Pumaren at CEU’s helm last January, said the school has retained the scholarships of his charges.

“Very supportive ang mga boss namin regarding sa scholarships ng players,” said Napa, an assistant coach to Pido Jarencio at NorthPort in the pro league and a former National University standout in the early 2000s.
