THE Clark Development Corporation (CDC) has earned rare praises from government auditors due to its performance in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
In the 2020 audit report, the audit team said the government-owned or controlled corporation (GOCC) “played a very significant role” in efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the free port zone and the Clark Green City.
Among the high-impact projects implemented by the CDC as part of its pandemic response was the expansion of quarantine facilities, securing personal protective equipment for front line workers and free transportation services inside Clark.
“The conversion of the CDC-owned Asean Convention Center (ACC) into a temporary quarantine facility, with 150-bed capacity, in a short span of seven days was unprecedented,” the Commission on Audit said.
