WITH nearly the whole of Mindanao hit by flooding, Caritas Philippines is appealing for aid for affected families and communities in the Northern Mindanao, Davao, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro regions.
“Every little bit helps. Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of those affected by the floods,” it said in a social media post.
Caritas said it is asking for food packs, sleeping and hygiene kits, kitchen wares, and emergency shelter kits for displaced families.
In recent days, a low pressure area continued to bring light to heavy rains in Mindanao, resulting in flooding and landslides in several areas.
About 214,000 families or 812,000 persons in the five regions have been affected.
