DOMESTIC workers in Calabarzon and Soccsksargen are set to get higher pays beginning later this month, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).
In a social media post, the NWPC disclosed that the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – IVA issued a wage order granting wage hike for domestic workers in Calabarzon.
“The wage board published Wage Order No. RB-IVA-DW-03 on June 30, 2022, granting a monthly increase of P1,500 for domestic workers/kasambahays in the region’s growth corridor area (cities and first-class municipalities),” said the NWPC.
This brings the new monthly rate in Calabarzon areas to P5,000.
The Calabarzon wage board similarly granted a monthly increase of P1,000 for the region’s emerging growth and resource-based areas (other municipalities), bringing the new monthly rate for domestic workers in these areas to P4,000.
The Calabarzon wage order is set to take effect on July 16.
On the other hand, the NWPC said the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – XII also issued a wage order granting wage hike for domestic workers in Soccsksargen.
“The wage board published Wage Order No. RB-XII-DW-03 on June 30, 2022, granting a monthly increase of P500 for domestic workers/kasambahays in the region,” said the NWPC.
The wage order brings the new monthly minimum wage to P4,500 in cities and first-class municipalities, and P4,000 in other municipalities in Region XII.
The Soccsksargen wage order would take effect on July 16.
With the two wage orders for domestic workers, all 16 regions have already hiked the monthly pay rates of kasambahays.
