POLICE operatives arrested yesterday morning Cagayan Valley’s most wanted person who allegedly raped his stepdaughter, a minor, from 2019 to last year.
The Cagayan Regional Police Office identified the suspect as Michael Ramos, 36, who was nabbed in Barangay Nanguilattan. Peñablanca, Cagayan.
Ramos was nabbed on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Cagayan province Judge Lyliha Abella-Aquino last October 4, with no bail recommended.
Ramos is accused of raping his stepdaughter 160 times, starting sometime in September 2019 when the victim was just 13 years old.
“From there, she was repeatedly sexually molested by the suspect four times each week until June 25, 2020. She further revealed that the suspect threatened to kill her if she will report the incident to anybody,” the Cagayan regional police said in a statement.
The rapes were committed while the victim’s mother was working abroad, police added.
Accompanied by her aunt, the victim sought police assistance on July 3 last year, leading to the filing of charges against the suspect and the issuance of the arrest warrant.
Ramos is detained at the Peñablanca municipal police station.
