A MAGNITUDE 5.2 earthquake rocked the province of Cagayan on Wednesday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said it is not expecting any damage from the quake. However, aftershocks are expected.
Phivolcs said the quake occurred at 9:07 p.m. It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 56 km. Its epicenter was some 33 km northwest of Babuyan Island in Calayan town, Cagayan.
The shaking was felt at Intensity III in the towns of Calayan, Abulug, and Aparri in Cagayan, and in the towns of Ivana, Uyugan, and Sabtang in Batanes. — Victor Reyes
