PHILIPPINE Coast Guard personnel have recovered the remains of five children who were reported missing after swimming at Taal Lake in Balete, Batangas last Tuesday.
First to be recovered was Sherin Ashtrid Dela Rosa, 8, whose body was found 10 meters away from the shoreline, approximately 15 feet underwater, at around 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to PCG Communications Officer Joy Gumatay.
Ten minutes later, Gumatay said the remains of Jaime Rose Ann Jacutan, 12, was retrieved in the same area.
At around 7:45 a.m. yesterday, the body of Kurthney Prian Presas, 8, was found 25 feet underwater, about 10 meters away from the area where the remains of Dela Rosa and Jacutan were found.
Five minutes later, the body of Rodney Mark Dela Rosa, 7, was also found in the same location.
The body of the fifth victim, Kiel Zackary Pasaron, 10, was found at around 9:47 a.m. also yesterday in the said vicinity.
The five went to swim in Barangay Looc in Balete on Tuesday morning. The PCG received information about the purported drowning of the victims around noon.
