Remember Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ photo showing the ex-couple with their kids spending quarantine together? That’s similar to how it will be for ex-couple Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera this Christmas.
It will actually be a repeat of last year’s, revealed Martin and Pops at a Zoom press con for their Saturday show on entertainment channel Colours on Cignal TV, “eXes and WhYs with Pops and Martin.” In 2019, the uncouple spent Christmas with their kids Robin and Ram, and Santino, Martin’s kid with Katrina Ojeda, who was also present. Their Instagram photo showed the beautiful blended family with big smiles.
“It’s becoming a habit, a great habit,” said Martin of the intimate gathering that includes, as he quipped, “my kids and the mothers of my kids.”
But Martin and Pops have something Bruce and Demi lack. The country’s undisputed Concert King and Queen have an inimitable chemistry that have endured their breakup so that whatever issues they may be going through, when Pops and Martin harmonize on stage, everything seems fine.
That’s why more than three decades since “Penthouse Live” where the two met and fell in love, the clamor is still there. So they are back on the small screen, reuniting in “eXes and WhYs with Pops and Martin,” directed by their firstborn, Robin, who has his own Colours show with composer Louie Ocampo, “Louie O. Live! With Robin Nievera.”
Every Saturday, Pops and Martin will share their experiences and their music and will also perform with their guests such as Zsa Zsa Padilla, Vina Morales, Geneva Cruz, KZ Tandingan, TJ Monterde, Jaya, and Matteo Guidicelli.
Meanwhile, “Louie O. Live! With Robin Nievera” combines the genius of the songwriting icon with the fresh style and unique perspective of singer-songwriter and record-producer Robin.
“Everything’s going to be organic,” said Louie.
The show redefines traditional talk shows as it celebrates and incorporates the traditional OPM (Original Pilipino Music) with the modern music of this generation. The original and modern collaboration of Louie Ocampo and Robin Nievera is filled with fun and insightful messages spanning a combined musical scope of almost 50 years.
Louie O shares the colorful journey of his musical career with some of the country’s most successful musical directors like Homer Flores, and Mel Villena; while Robin Nievera shares his talent and opinion on the current music industry with guests like Moophs and Marcus Davis. Other featured guests include Bobby Taylo, Rene Martinez, Karel Honasan, Nikko Rivera, Janno Queyquep, Clara Benin, Kris Lawrence, Jay-R, and Martin Nievera.
“It’s three generations of Nievera that I’ve worked with,” said Louie, “I’m part of the family.”
“eXes & whYs With Pops and Martin” airs every Saturday at 9 p.m., while “Louie O. LIVE! with Robin Nievera” airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on Colours, available exclusively on Cignal TV CH. 202 HD and CH. 60 SD.
