FORTY official candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2023 were shortlisted from almost 70 applicants at last Monday’s final screening proceedings held at the New Frontier Theater, Araneta.
Initially, 35 were selected but 5 more were added before the day was over to complete this year’s roster of 40.
The 40 official candidates are: Elaiza Dee Alzona, Sofia Lopez Galve, Anna Valencia Lakrini, Paulina Labayo, Mirjan Hipolito, Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano, Angelica Lopez, Rheema Adakkoden, Kiara Giel Gregorio, Zeah Nestle Pala, Lyra Punsalan, Gianna Margarita Llanes, Trisha Martinez, Katrina Mae Sese, Alasha Reign Parani, Samantha Dana Bug-os, Vientree Zoe Santiago, Anje Mae Manipol, Andrea Marie Sulangi, April Angelu Barro;
Charismae Almarez, Julia Mae Mendoza, Rasha Cortez Al Enzi, Juvel Cyrene Bea, Mary Joy Dacoron, Tracy Lois Bedua, Sharmaine Magdasoc, Babyernh Llong, Lea Macapagal, Xena Ramos, Paola Allison Araño, Mary Chiles Balan, Pia Isabel Duloguin, Julianne Rose Reyes, Candy Tanael Ví¶llinger, Katrina Johnson, Allhia Charmaine Estores, Jessilen Salvador, Lorraine Jara, Yesley Cardano Cabanos.
This year’s batch is a merry mix of old and new faces: a repeater from last year, cross-overs from other national pageants, newbies without pageant experience.
Present during the final screening and deliberation to select this year’s official candidates are the reigning queens Nicole Borromeo, Chelsea Fernandez, Gabrielle Basiano, Roberta Tamondong and Stacey Gabriel along with the pageant’s executive committee members former Miss International Lara Quigaman and Raymond Villanueva, as well as their partners.
All set to continue the legacy of beauty and grace of the Filipina on the international stage, this batch of ladies is also a reflection of the empowered woman of today, ready to take on any role to make a difference in her community.
