DAILY departures from the country are steadily rising after the holiday season, data provided by the Bureau of Immigration showed.
The agency said it has been recording around 30,000 to 31,000 departures daily since New Year for all international airports.
The number is slightly higher than the 21,000 to 25,000 departures processed during the first week of December.
The data also showed that the agency processed a total of 13,224,308 departing passengers for 2023, with the peak period being December last month, which saw 1,201,484 departures.
More than seven million Filipinos also departed last year, among which are overseas Filipino workers as well as tourists.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the BI recorded more than eight million departing Filipinos.
South Koreans have the highest number of outbound travelers for foreigners in 2023 with more than 1.55 million departures, followed by Americans with 1.19 million departures, and Chinese with 406,000 departures.
