Bea, Carla face off in ‘Widows’ War’

From the creators of the acclaimed series “Widows’ Web” and “Royal Blood,” GMA introduces its latest murder mystery drama, “Widows’ War.”

This thrilling new show stars award-winning actress Bea Alonzo and primetime star Carla Abellana, directed by the award-winning Zig Dulay. Starting on July 1, “Widows’ War” promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and unexpected twists. For the first time, two of Philippine entertainment’s most renowned actresses share the screen. Bea Alonzo portrays Samantha/Sam, while Carla Abellana takes on the role of Georgina/George. Their lives become intertwined with the affluent Palacios family, leading to unforeseen chaos and conflict.

“Widows’ War” features an impressive cast, including Tonton Gutierrez as Galvan, COO of the Palacios’ mining company; Jeric Gonzales as Francis, a defeated spirit and Sam’s brother; Juancho Triviño as Abdul, a cop and George’s former lover; Jackie Lou Blanco as Ruth, George’s materialistic mother; Lito Pimentel as Amando, the Palacios’ secretive butler; Timmy Cruz as Mercy, Sam’s protective mother; Rita Daniela as Rebecca, a schizophrenic member of the wealthy clan; Royce Cabrera as Jericho, an inquisitive staff member of the Palacios household; Lovely Rivero as Vivian, Galvan’s former secretary; James Graham as Louie, Amando’s grandson; Charlie Flemming as Sofia, Galvan’s illegitimate child with Vivian; Matthew Uy as Edward, George’s brother; and Ms. Jean Garcia as Aurora, the self-proclaimed matriarch of the Palacios family.

Special guest stars include Benjamin Alves as Basil Palacios, George’s ambitious husband, and Rafael Rosell as Paco Palacios, Sam’s devoted husband.

Conceived by RJ Nuevas and Ken De Leon, “Widows’ War” centers around Sam and George, once best friends now turned adversaries, each determined to uncover the truth about who among them is the real culprit or victim.

The story unfolds as Sam and George hold each other accountable for a tragedy that befalls their families. Their paths cross again while mourning their husbands, only to find themselves suspects in the mysterious deaths of Paco and Basil.

As they strive to clear their names, Sam and George delve into a web of lies and deception.

Produced by the GMA Entertainment Group and led by senior vice president Lilybeth G. Rasonable, vice president for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, assistant vice president for Drama Helen Rose S. Sese, senior program manager Redgynn Alba, and executive producer Michele R. Borja, “Widows’ War” is poised to be a masterpiece of suspense and drama.

The show’s creative team includes creative director Aloy Adlawan, content development consultant Ricky Lee, creative consultant RJ Nuevas, head writer Obet Villela, writers Ken De Leon, Jimuel Dela Cruz, and Abner Tulagan, with brainstormers Louize Alsheri and Carlo Ventura.

“Widows’ War” unravels its secrets starting July 1 on GMA, and airs weeknights at 8:50, with a delayed telecast on GTV at 10:50 p.m.
