THIS year’s Bar examinations will be held on two Wednesdays and two Sundays in November, the Supreme Court said yesterday.
In a Bar bulletin issued by Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, the Bar chairperson, the examinations will be held “barring any unforeseen circumstances and contingencies which may necessitate a rescheduling of dates” on November 9 (Wednesday), 13 (Sunday), 16 (Wednesday) and 20 (Sunday).”
Although the SC earlier said 14 local testing centers will be used for the exams, the bulletin said “the details pertaining to the exam venue selections will be announced in a later date.”
It added that the same “regionalized and digitalized” set-up used in the 2020 and 2021 Bar exams held last February will also be utilized in November.
“In light of the Supreme Court’s continuous effort towards a regionalized and digitalized platform for the conduct of the Bar examinations, and following the success of the 2020/2021 Bar Examinations, the Supreme Court will continue to use Examplify, a secure examination delivery program, for the 2022 Bar Examinations, during which the examinees will use their own devices in their preferred venue, monitored by in-person proctors and close circuit television cameras in the exam room,” it said.
The SC decided to use the set-up in the 2020 and 2021 Bar exams due to the health and travel restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 11,402 took the 2020/2021 Bar exams but only 8,241 or 72.28 percent passed the exams.
