THE Supreme Court (SC) yesterday said 10,392 law graduates took the second day of the 2023 Bar examinations in 14 local testing centers nationwide, including six in Metro Manila.
The number is down from the 10,404 examinees who took the first day of the Bar on Sept.17.
The High Court earlier said there are 10,791 candidates expected to take this year’s Bar exams.
San Beda University-Manila still has the highest number of Bar takers on its second day with 1,610 (down from 1,614 on the first day), followed by University of the Philippines-Diliman with 1,065; Saint Louis University-Baguio City with 988, Ateneo de Davao University with 946, University of San Jose Recoletos with 924, University of Sto. Tomas with 730, San Beda College-Alabang with 722 and University of the Philippines-BGC campus with 705.
Meanwhile, 550 takers took the second day of the exam in the University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City, 530 in Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City, 519 in the University of San Carlos in Cebu City, 393 in Cagayan State University in Tuguegarao City, 387 in the Manila Adventist College, and 323 at the Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City.
This year’s Bar Examinations are divided into six core subjects: Political and Public International Law (15percent), Commercial and Taxation Laws (20 percent), Civil Law (20 percent), Labor Law and Social Legislation (10 percent), Criminal Law (10 percent), Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25 percent).
SC Associate Justice and 2023 Bar Chairperson Ramon Paul Hernando earlier said they will release the results of the Bar in early December this year.
Previously, the results of the Bar exams were released during the summer session of the High Court in Baguio City.
Aside from this, Hernando also said there will be simultaneous oath-taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys in December before Christmas day.
