It said the move of the plebiscite date was made due to the postponement of the December 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) to October 2023.

“(With the) approval of the bill by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., the Commission may re-schedule the conduct of the plebiscite to ratify the conversion of the municipality of Baliwag into a component city into an earlier date,” said the Comelec.

With the plebiscite date set a month earlier, the poll body also set a new information and campaign eriod, which will run from November 17 to December 15, 2022.

Accordingly, the plebiscite period has also been set from November 17 to December 24, 2022.

On plebiscite day, which is a Saturday, casting of votes will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
