INTERIOR Secretary Eduardo Año said the distribution of the P22.9 billion cash aid to low-income residents in the NCR Plus is now 67 percent complete.

During President Duterte’s televised public address on Wednesday night, Año said 15.53 million out of the targeted 22.91 beneficiaries have already received their “ayuda.”

The President approved the distribution of cash assistance amounting to P1,000 per person, or a maximum of P4,000 per family, to poor families affected by the March 29 to April 11 enhanced community quarantine imposed

The funds were downloaded to local government units on April 5. Local executives were initially given a 15-day deadline, or until April 20, to complete the distribution but the deadline has been extended to May 15 to allow LGUs to finish the payouts.

“All in all, out of the P22.9 billion, we already distributed P15.53 billion for a total of 67.60 percent,” said Año, adding: “Our disbursement is already high.”

In Metro Manila, Año said the distribution of the cash assistance is already 73.46 percent complete, with 8.2 million out of the 11.17 million intended beneficiaries already paid out.

He said 1.81 million beneficiaries or 61.13 percent out of the 2.96 million intended beneficiaries in Bulacan have also received their aid, while 1.83 million or 53.24 percent of the 3.44 million intended beneficiaries in Cavite have got their share already.

Año said 2.06 million of the 2.71 million beneficiaries in Laguna (76.08 percent) have already received their assistance, while 1.61 million of the 2.61 million intended beneficiaries in Rizal (61.63 percent) got their ayuda.

Año said 23,292 complaints have been received by the DILG in connection with the aid distribution. He said 15,736 of these complaints are under deliberation, and 3,824 have already been resolved.
