Florita, which hit mainly the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela, left the country on Wednesday.

The NDRRMC said in a report it has validated two of the deaths — Rogelio Bernardo, 63, and an unnamed 56-year-old man, who were hit by fallen trees in Cagayan and Isabela, respectively.

The NDRRMC said it has received a report about the death of a 32-year-old man in Camarines Sur due to drowning but said it was determining if the cause of his death was directly due to Florita.

It said three persons were confirmed injured in separate incidents in Cagayan after being hit by fallen trees. They were Rufino Agustin, Nicanor Pazziuagan and Carol Correo. It said it was validating a report that a 36-year-old man was injured in Camarines Sur.

The NDRRMC said Florita affected almost 12,000 families or about 47,200 individuals from 392 barangays in five regions — Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Metro Manila.

Of the number, 3,402 families or 12,634 individuals have been displaced. The number of displaced population, staying in evacuation centers or with their relatives and friends, was down to 2,788 families or 10,355 individuals as of yesterday.

It said P4.85 million worth of assistance has been provided to the storm victims in the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, and Bicol regions, including 4,307 family food packs worth P2.38 million.

The NDRRMC said at least 49 areas in Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, and Bicol region were flooded, although floods in 39 of these areas have subsided as of yesterday.

Some 30 houses were damaged by Florita in Ilocos and Cagayan Valley, the NDRRMC said.

The NDRRMC has yet to provide an estimate as to the cost of damage to infrastructure and agriculture. Damage assessment were still ongoing as of yesterday.

Florita made landfall in Maconacon, Isabela last Tuesday morning and exited the Philippine area of responsibility about 18 hours later.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said some 1,000 families or around 3,000 persons remained displaced in five regions — Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and National Capital Region or Metro Manila.

Of the displaced, 669 families or 2,057 persons are staying in 36 evacuation centers in the Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and the Central Luzon regions, CAR, and Metro Manila.

The DSWD said P6.14 million worth of assistance has been provided to the affected families. It is also augmenting supplies in the storm-affected areas like in Mountain Province, Apayao, Laoag, Vigan, and San Fernando where family additional food packs, hygiene kits, kitchen kits, sleeping kits, and laminated sacks are being sent.

The government has on standby P1.748 billion worth of funds (P843.89 million) and stockpiles of family food packs (P279 million) and non-food items (P625.667 million). — With Jocelyn Montemayor
