FORMER Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Archbishop Angel Lagdameo is set to be buried on July 19 at the Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo City, the Archdiocese of Jaro announced yesterday.
The burial rites for the late archbishop will be held after a funeral mass to be presided by Jaro Archbishop Jose Romeo Lazo.
Lagdameo died at a hospital in Iloilo City last Friday morning.
The Archdiocese of Jaro appealed to the faithful who have been sending flowers to the late archbishop to instead convert these to financial contributions to help in the treatment and care of the sick priests of the Archdiocese of Jaro.
The Archdiocese said donations and gifts may be sent to the Jaro Cathedral Parish Office, while contributions may be sent to the diocese’s bank accounts with the BPI (Acct. No. 1333-1822-34/Acct. Name: RCAJ Clergy Fund), and the RCBC (Acct. No. 0405801752/Acct. Name: The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Jaro).
Lagdameo served as archbishop of Jaro from March 2000 until his retirement in February 2018. He also served as CBCP president from December 2005 to December 2009.
