AM American who has been convicted for child pornography has been denied entry to Manila by the Bureau of Immigration.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Ronald Huy Young, 54, arrived on board a Philippine Airlines flight from Honolulu, Hawaii last Sunday, October 1.
“He was denied entry by the immigration for violation of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940. In the said law, foreign nationals who have been previously convicted of crimes involving moral turpitude are inadmissible in the Philippines,” Tansingco said yesterday.
Records of the Hawaiian Criminal Justice Data Center provided to the BI showed Young pleaded guilty to electronic enticement of a child in the first degree.
Young was also accused of photographing dozens of sex acts with eight of his foster children.
His father was also convicted of child rape in 1989.
He was sentenced by the First Circuit Court in the State of Hawaii to 10 years imprisonment in 2008 and was included in the state’s sex violators registry.
“The law is very clear in its intent to protect Filipinos from foreigners who might be engaged in sex tourism and may prey upon the vulnerable. Aliens with such criminal records are barred from entering the country,” the BI chief added.
