The phenomenal teamup that captured hearts in the movies “Kita Kita” (2017) and “Walang KaParis” (2023) is back in “May For Ever,” Net25’s Saturday sitcom set to premiere on January 20 at 7 p.m. Award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi reunites with funnyman Empoy Marquez in the small screen.
With their innate acting talent, enviable comic timing and their undeniable chemistry, it seemed only a matter of time that the pair would be cast as a couple on TV. “May For Ever” was in fact conceptualized with the “AlEmpoy” pair in mind, Alex revealed at the virtual press con last Wednesday.
“Na may chemistry tayo…,” Empoy butted in.
“Keme-stry,” Alex deadpanned.
Of the two, it is Alex who is more of a comedian, according to Empoy. This humor serves her well in “May For Ever,” where the two play a married couple – May and Ever Laurel – who are now in their twilight years. The sitcom is set 40 years in the future and May and Ever are spending what’s left of their time in an assisted living facility, reminiscing their life together and interacting with the other residents in the seniors home.
In real life, Alex and Empoy are good friends. Empoy only wishes for Alex to find the guy who will understand her “mula ulo hanggang ingrown.”
Alex, meanwhile, has a lot of requirements for Empoy’s “forever.”
Alex jokingly added that the girl should be rich enough to support Empoy so he need not work.
“Walang ganun Alex,” Empoy insisted. “Ang love, kusang dumarating.”
“May For Ever” also stars Michelle Vito, Drei Arias, Archie Alemania, Anthony Ocampo, TJ Valderrama, Mitoy Yonting, Zach Francisco, and Vangie Labalan.
