Alden Richards unmasks himself in his documentary concert, “ForwARd,” directed by Frank Lloyd Mamaril.

The host-actor, who has been in the entertainment industry for over a decade, revealed there are facets of his life as Richard Faulkerson, Jr. — including past hurts — that the people have yet to know. Apart from highlighting his other talents, “ForwARd” suggests his steps to heal as well as further improve himself.

“Healing in the sense of mending the wounds of the past,” said Alden, “Nung nagsimula po ako sa industry, maraming sugat, ang raming open wounds. Na realize ko na I was really able to heal over time and work hard for it, for it to fully recover.

“In terms of advancement, ganun naman ang buhay, we do not really get stuck in a place for a really long period of time, we just move forward, find purpose. That’s the beauty of life, it’s really about looking for things that motivate you and make you a better person as you go along as that gives meaning to it. That gives meaning to life. That’s the very essence of the word forward.”

Streaming on January 30 at 8 p.m., “ForwARd” is also a benefit show for survivors of Typhoon Odette as well as scholars of The AR Foundation.
