PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has named Agrarian Reform Undersecretary Marilyn Barua-Yap as chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) vice Karlo Nograles, who resigned to run for mayor of Davao City.
The appointment papers of Barua-Yap, dated October 15 and signed by the President, read that she would serve the unexpired term of Nograles as CSC chairperson until February 2, 2029.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, who confirmed the appointment, sent the appointment papers to Barua-Yap yesterday.
Barua-Yap, before her appointment, served as undersecretary for the Special Concerns Office (SCO) and External Affairs and Communications Operations Office (EACOO) of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
A lawyer, she previously served as secretary general of the House of Representatives during the 15th and 16th Congress and chief of staff at the Office of the Minority Leader during the 8th Congress and Majority leader during the 10th and 11th Congress.
She also served as a former consultant of the Road Board and trainer/lecturer at the House of Representatives, Development Academy of the Philippines, University of the Philippines and the Ateneo de Manila University, among others.
