Actor Aga Muhlach embraces both nerves and joy as he collaborates with his family–wife Charlene Gonzales and their twins, Atasha and Andres–in the upcoming sitcom “Da Pers Family,” set to premiere on July 21 at 7:15 p.m. on TV5.

During the show’s recent press conference at TV5 Studio, Muhlach, who also serves as producer, expressed his happiness about working alongside his children. Yet, like any devoted family man, he admitted feeling protective of them.

“Ngayon, it’s harder for me because nandiyan ‘yung pamilya mo na binabantayan mo, [pero] kaya naman nila.

Mahirap, but then, sila na nagdesisyon na they wanted to work.

Aga and Charlene, a former beauty queen, host, and actress, share their experiences and wisdom with their kids. Drawing from his four decades in showbiz, Aga emphasizes kindness and empathy as crucial traits for navigating the entertainment world.

Always be kind to everyone. Let’s just be nice to people. Kahit may mayabang kayong maka-engkwentro, hindi mo alam pinagdadaanan nun, never judge,” he said.

When it comes to acting, Aga reassures them that skills could be developed. “It’s all about confidence really. Kailangan malakas ang loob mo. Ang talent nade-develop ‘yan. Syempre bago kayo, mahaba pa yan lalakbayin nyo. Hanggang ngayon nag-aaral pa rin ako,” he said.

In “Da Pers Family,” Aga takes on the role of the patriarch of the Persival family. Alongside Charlene, they own The Bake Haus of You, facing off against Aga’s former best friend, played by Roderick Paulate. The challenges the Persivals face ultimately bring them closer as they fight to save their business.

“Da Pers Family” also stars Ces Quesada, Heart Ryan, Chad Kinis, Kedebon Colim, Sam Coloso, and Bayani Agbayani. It is under the helm of “Oki Doki Dok” director Danni Caparas and airs every Sunday at 7:15 p.m. on TV5, with catch-up airings on Sari-Sari Channel, Mondays at 7 p.m.
