After Jessica Soho’s sit-down with the top four presidential aspirants on GMA, it will be Boy Abunda’s turn.
“The 2022 Presidential One-On-One Interviews with Boy Abunda” will air from January 24 to 28 on The Boy Abunda Talk Channel on YouTube and Kapamilya Channel.
Abunda will grill each of the five presidential candidates in the week-long series. Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson will be featured on January 24, to be followed by former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on January 25. Vice President Leni Robredo will have her turn on January 26. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Sen. Manny Pacquiao, will be on January 27 and 28, respectively.
Meanwhile, GMA released a statement on Saturday countering Marcos’ camp’s allegation on Soho’s partiality.
Marcos’ camp released a statement Friday that said “the hostess of said popular talk show is biased against the Marcoses” as his reason for skipping the GMA interview aired on Saturday.
“We believe her questions will just focus on negativity about BBM which the UniTeam dislike,” Victor Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said in the statement.
GMA denied the allegation and defended Soho’s reputation.
“Throughout her career, Ms. Soho has consistently been named the most trusted media personality in the Philippines by both local and foreign organizations, a testament to her embodying the GMA News and Public Affairs ethos: ‘Walang Kinikilingan, Walang Pinoprotektahan, Serbisyong Totoo Lamang.’”
Soho, a Peabody awardee, “boldly asks the presidential aspirants the questions that need to be asked….”
“The questions are tough because the job of the presidency is tough,” the statement further said.
