THREE days after the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) sent out its call, some 7,500 displaced overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with pending wage claims from their former Saudi Arabian employers have emailed their employment details.
“As of now, we have received around 7,500 plus already. There are only a few left before we can complete the 10,000 plus OFW claimants,” Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople said in a briefing.
“Hopefully, by May 1, we can already complete our list,” she added.
Last Friday, the DMW issued a call for the Saudi OFWs to send their employment details to saudiclaims@dmw.gov.ph.
The DMW said the list of claimants will be subject to approval by a special committee created by the Saudi government.
She said families and relatives of displaced OFWs who have died may send emails for their claims.
“They can use the same email address and template. Put the name of their loved one, their relation, iqama number, passport number, and follow the guide. What is important is their contact details so that we can contact them for the verification process,” she said.
