SEVEN suspects recently arrested in the killing of two online sellers have confessed their involvement in at least 12 similar shooting incidents in Central Luzon, according to the PNP.
In a statement, the PNP said the arrest of the suspects — Arnold Taylan, Arnel Buan, Robert Dimaliwat, Rolando Cruz, Jomie Rabandaban, Sancho Nieto, and Anthony Limon — was a significant development due to their involvement in other crimes.
“The suspects have confessed to being involved in at least 12 other shooting incidents across Pampanga, Bataan, and Nueva Ecija, making their capture a significant victory in the fight against violent crime,” the PNP said, without providing details.
The suspects were arrested in separate operations last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Their arrest was announced by Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan last Tuesday afternoon in Pampanga.
They were involved in the October 4 killing of Arvin Lulu and his wife Lerma, both online sellers, in Mexico, Pampanga. The two were shot dead aboard their pick-up truck.
Police tagged Limon, also an online seller, as the mastermind behind the murder of the Lulu couple. Police said Limon ordered the killing, “driven by a P13 million debt owed to the victims.”
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil commended the Central Luzon regional police office for solving the murder case, even as he reiterated the PNP’s commitment to protecting the public and ensuring justice will prevail for all crime victims.
Marbil said the quick resolution of the case “highlights the capability and dedication of our police force to bring those responsible to justice.
“Our message is clear: the PNP stands as the protector of the Filipino people. We will remain vigilant and relentless in the pursuit of justice, for it is through justice that we restore peace and order in our communities,” said Marbil.
“Justice cannot wait. The PNP will stop at nothing to ensure that every victim of violence receives the justice they deserve. The swift arrest of these suspects is a testament to our unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and protect the innocent,” added Marbil.
Marbil said “violence, driven by greed or any other motive, has no place in our society.
“We will not allow those who commit heinous crimes to escape the long arm of the law. We owe it to the victims and their families to act swiftly and decisively,” he added.
Marbil said criminals who believe they can act with impunity “will be proven wrong.
“We will ensure that all those responsible for this despicable crime face the full force of the law. The victims and their families deserve nothing less than swift and unwavering justice,” he said.
