THE Department of Health reported 665 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases yesterday, the lowest since July 2020 when just 634 new infections were reported, while 141 more succumbed to the deadly virus.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the number of infections in the country rose to 2,832,375 while the death toll climbed to 48,501 for a case fatality rate of 1.71.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 2.1 percent out of the 32,639 tests conducted last November 27.
Active cases dipped further to 16,289 from 16,630 last Sunday, with 48.1 percent mild cases, 23.8 percent moderate cases, 15.6 percent severe cases, 6.6 percent critical cases, and 6 percent asymptomatic cases. Active cases account for 0.6 percent of COVID cases in the country.
The DOH also reported 993 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,767,585.
This means that 97.7 percent of COVID patients in the country have recovered.
