58th Binibining Pilipinas crowns 4 winners

THE 58th edition of Binibining Pilipinas finale went live on Sunday night, lasting three hours before naming and crowning four winners in a suspense-filled but star-studded show that included performances from the sensational Pinoy boy group SB19.

At the end of the event on the 1st of August at 1 a.m. yesterday, Nicole Yance Borromeo of Cebu was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 by her predecessor Hannah Arnold.

Interestingly, Arnold has yet to compete for Miss International in Japan this December while Borromeo will compete next year.

Roberta Angela Tamondong of San Pablo, Laguna was crowned by Samantha Panlilio as Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2022; Gabrielle Camille Basiano of Borongan, Eastern Samar took over reigning Miss Intercontinental Cindy Obeñita as Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022; and multi-titled Chelsea Lovely Fernandez of Tacloban City was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2022 by reigning Miss Globe Maureen Montagne.

The Miss Intercontinental will be held in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on Oct 14, The Miss Globe in Scanderberg Square in Poland on October 15, and the Miss Grand International in Bogor, Indonesia.

YouTube sensation Herlene Nicol Budol of Angono, Rizal was named first runner-up after winning the lion’s share of special awards, while Stacey Danielle Gabriel of Cainta, Rizal was named second runner-up.

The distinguished panel of judges was composed of H. E. Ioannis Pediotis, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Hellenic Republic of Greece in the Philippines; George Barcelon, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Rico Hizon, senior news anchor of CNN Philippines; Cecilio “Cece” Asuncion, founder and model director of Slay Model Management who created quite a stir by appearing in a barong top and boxer shorts; Alfredo Pascual, Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry; Ann Colis, Miss Globe 2015; Ahtisa Manalo, Miss International first runner-up 2018; and actors Jane De Leon and Joshua Garcia.

Miss International 2005 and newest member of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. executive committee Lara Quigaman Alcaraz paid a tribute to the reigning global titlists of the pageant — Montagne and Obeñita.

The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 coronation night was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves.
