As of December 5, there were around 73.8 million fully vaccinated Filipinos and only some 21 million have received booster shots.
The DOH has been repeatedly asking fully vaccinated individuals to get boosted as immunity from the primary series has been found to wane over time.
DOH data also showed that among the fully vaccinated individuals, 6.9 million are senior citizens.
At least 10 million adolescents (12 to 17 years old) are fully-vaccinated, with some 1.2 million already boosted.
About 5.4 million children (5 to 11 years old) are fully-vaccinated.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, in a press briefing on Tuesday, asked all eligible individuals anew to get vaccinated or boosted against. COVID-19.
“Vaccine is still the best form of protection we have against COVID-19. So, let us all get vaccinated,” said Vergeire.
