5 Koreans, 4 Pinoys in cyber crimes nabbed

NINE alleged cyber criminals, five of them Koreans, were arrested by operatives of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in separate operations in Angeles City in Pampanga on Monday, PNP chief Debold Sinas reported yesterday.

The suspects were arrested by virtue of search warrants for violation of Republic Act 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998) as amended by RA or RA 11449 (An Act Providing for Additional Prohibitions to and Increasing Penalties for Violations of RA 8484).

First to be arrested was Korean Lee Sungbo, alias Seven, who was nabbed at Pulu Amsic Subdivision in Barangay Amsic. Seized from him were 11 Sim cards, seven cellphones, a laptop, a desktop, three SD cards, a flash drive, 11 bank/payment cards, a bill counter, a keyboard, two computer monitors, and assorted peripherals and remotes.

Two more Koreans — Yoensu Yoon, Junguk Lee — and Filipinos Alyssa Payabyab, Maiko de Luna, John Patrick Sotto Gonzales, and Bong Baja Garcia were arrested at Hensonville Court Subdivision in Barangay Malabanias.
