POLICE operatives arrested five suspected drug dealers and seized nearly two kilos of suspected shabu worth P12.75 million in separate anti-drug operations in Rizal and Cavite last Monday.
Two of the suspects, sisters Diadema Babasa, 56 and Betty Babasa, 45, were nabbed in San Mateo town in Rizal, according to PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba.
Alba said Babasa is a “high-value individual” in the continuing war against drugs.
Seized from the possession of the duo was 1.02 kilos of shabu, worth P6.97 million.
The three others arrested were Ruffa Maie Gervacio, 22, who the police described as a “major drug player;” Dexter Santos, 25; and Arlene Navarro, 41.
Alba said the three, nabbed in Dasmariñas City in Cavite, yielded 850 grams or .85 kilo of shabu worth P5.78 million.
In a statement, PNP chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. reiterated the PNP’s desire to rid the country of illegal drugs. — With Christian Oineza
