THE PNP yesterday said 419 areas throughout the country are under granular lockdown as of Saturday amid the recent surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country.
A report from the PNP national headquarters said 55 of these areas are in the capital National Capital Region.
The PNP said there 122 areas in Ilocos region are locked down, 107 in the Cordillera Administrative Region, 102 in Cagayan Valley, 22 in Calabarzon and 11 in Mimaropa.
The PNP said the lockdowns cove 255 barangays within 29 cities and municipalities.
Affected households are 602, composed of 1,285 individuals.
The PNP said the granular lockdowns are enforced by 380 policemen and 780 force multipliers or personnel from local government units.
The PNP reported 482 areas under granular lockdown last Friday, of which 122 were in the Ilocos region, 102 each in NCR and Cagayan Valley, 101 in Cordillera Administrative Region, 44 in Calabarzon and 11 in Mimaropa.
Meanwhile, the Pasig City government has passed an ordinance prohibiting unvaccinated individuals from leaving their homes in accordance with MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) Resolution No. 22-01 series 2022.
Mayor Vico Sotto signed City Ordinance No. 1 series of 2022, which allows unvaccinated residents to leave their homes only to buy essential goods and to exercise near their houses.
Unvaccinated workers need to present a RT PCR test with negative COVID-19 results every two weeks for onsite works.
Individuals who will be caught violating the ordinance be fined P1,000, imprisonment between one to six months or both.
Business establishments which will allow entry to unvaccinated people will pay a fine of P5,000 and a seven-day suspension of their business license — With Christian Oineza
