FOUR Chinese, one of them an employee of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator, were nabbed for possession of illegal drugs and firearms in Makati and Pasay on Thursday.

Arrested in Makati were Kun Yang, 24, a resident of Pasay City, and Jianxin Yang, 23, residing in Parañaque  City. Both are jobless whose apparent source of income is pushing drugs to their fellow Chinese residing in the country.

Nabbed in Pasay were Wen Bo, 33; and Jiaqi Huag, 34, residing in the city who are high value targets of the PNP for drug pushing. Their Filipino companion, identified as Manuel Domingo Torres, 63, a resident of Makati City, was also nabbed.

Seized from Kun and Jianxin were 6.55 grams of suspected shabu with street value of P44,540; a cal. 45 with eight bullets, and a magazine with five bullets .

Staff Sgt. John Patrick Natividad of the Makati PNP said at about 1:30 a.m., he and his fellow cops on patrol noticed a Toyota Innova parked on Metropolitan Ave. near the Jazz Mall in Barangay Bel-Air. Natividad said they approached the vehicle and asked the passengers for their driver’s license and quarantine pass but the two failed to present any.

He said they spotted a firearm beside the driver’s seat, which later turned out to be unlicensed. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the illegal drugs.

Police later found out the two were in the surveillance list of Makati Police Intelligence Section for selling drugs to their fellow Chinese.

The two are detained at the Makati Police station and face charges for violation of the curfew ordinance related to the enhanced community quarantine, driving without driver’s license, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and the Anti-illegal Drugs Act of 2002.

Seized from Bo, Huag and Torres were 13.2 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P89,760.

Police also confiscated from them various drugs paraphernalia, three revolvers, and nine bullets.

The three were arrested in a sting operation conducted at about 11 a.m. on Sunrise Drive in Barangay 76 Zone 10 and are now detained at the Pasay Police station for violating the Anti-illegal Drugs Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms and live ammunition. — Noel Talacay
