FOUR Army generals and colonels, including the commander of the Special Operations Command (Socom) of the Armed Forces, have been promoted to the next higher rank.
Armed Forces chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr yesterday led the donning of ranks ceremony at the AFP general headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
Promoted to major general were Freddie Dela Cruz, assumed the post of AFP Socom commander last month, and Noe Alberto Peñafiel, the AFP internal auditor.

Col. William Peñafiel, commander of the Army’s 902nd Brigade, and Nasser Lidasan, deputy commander of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, were promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
Brawner urged the newly-promoted officers to honor the legacy of their predecessors.
