CLOSE to four out of 10 Filipinos support and identify themselves as “pro-Marcos,” the August 28 to September 2 Tugon ng Masa (TNM) survey of OCTAResearch showed.
The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents with a margin of error of ±3 percent, showed that 38 percent support the Marcos Jr. administration or are considered “Pro-Marcos,” which was statistically unchanged from 36 percent in June.
The survey also showed that 15 percent (almost unchanged from 16 percent in June) “support the Duterte and their political alliances” or are “pro-Duterte,” while 7 percent (up from 5 percent) support the opposition or “Pro-Opposition.”
It also showed that 26 percent (down from 31 percent) “neither support the Marcos Jr. administration, the Dutertes nor the opposition or are “independent,” while 14 percent (up from 11 percent) do not know or refuse to answer.
Except for Mindanao, there are more pro-Marcos in the National Capital Region (NCR) with 42 percent (almost unchanged from 43 percent in June), in Luzon with 43 percent (from 42 percent), and the Visayas with 37 percent (up from 32 percent).
There are more pro-Duterte in Mindanao with 48 percent (down from 50 percent) followed by the pro-Marcos with 25 percent (unchanged).
The TMN also found that there are more “pro-Marcos” among the different socio-economic classes with 38 percent from class ABC (down from 40 percent) and D (from 37 percent), 40 percent from Class E (up from 25 percent).
