THE Department of Health reported 3,604 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases yesterday, the lowest in three days, but this did not include figures from seven laboratories that failed to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) last July 11.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said 77 more patients succumbed to the deadly virus, raising the toll to 26,092 for a case fatality rate of 1.76.
Overall, infections in the country rose to 1,481,660 while active cases dropped to 46,934 from 49,128 last Monday, with 89.6 percent mild cases, 4.3 percent asymptomatic cases, 2.6 percent severe cases, 1.8 percent moderate cases, and 1.6 percent critical cases.
There were 5,840 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 1,408,634. This means that 95.1 percent of COVID patients have recovered.
