THE Philippine Consulate yesterday said 31 Filipinos have recently been arrested in Hong Kong for selling liquor without license and for drinking the alcoholic drink in unlicensed places.
“The Philippine Consulate was informed by the Hong Kong Police Force that it will be conducting more law enforcement measures following the arrest of several suspects, including 31 Filipino nationals involved in selling liquor without license and drinking intoxicating substances in unlicensed premises in Central,” the Consulate said.
The Consulate reminded Filipinos in the territory to be mindful of local laws on the selling and drinking of alcoholic drinks, pointing out that the selling of intoxicating substances without license is a “serious offense” in Hong Kong which carries a maximum penalty of HK$1,000,000 and two years of imprisonment.
