THREE Filipino priests will be among 300 clergymen set to gather later this month in Rome during the “Parish Priests for the Synod,” according to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
The three, who will participate in the April 29 to May 2 meeting of parish priests, are Msgr. Joel Bruno Barut, vicar general of the Diocese of Laoag; Msgr. Marnito Bansig, episcopal vicar for clergy of the Diocese of Maasin; and Msgr. Julius Rodulfa, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Davao, said CBCP secretary general Msgr. Bernardo Pantin in a report of the CBCP News.
The agenda of the conference is to provide an opportunity to listen and give more value to the experiences of parish priests, CBCP News said.
During the meeting, the priest-delegates will participate in roundtable discussions, liturgies, workshops on pastoral proposals, and dialogue with experts.
CBCP News said the results of the meeting will be included in a working document drafted for the second session of the synodal assembly scheduled for October 2024. — Gerard Naval
