MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday three barangays will be placed under 48-hour lockdown starting Friday as city health authorities recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases.
Moreno said those that will be under stay-at-home regulation will be barangay 60, zone 5, district 1; barangay 163, zone 14, district 2; and barangay 844, zone 92, district 6.

Health authorities will conduct targeted testing, disease surveillance and rapid risk assessment while the areas are locked down.
Moreno noted city health records showing 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in barangay 60, 22 positive cases in barangay 163, and two cases in barangay 844.
The lockdowns were requested by the respective councils of the three barangays, according to the mayor.
Earlier this month, Moreno placed barangay 847 in Pandacan under 48-hour lockdown.
During the lockdown, residents are strictly confined to their residences and prohibited from going outside. On the other hand, there are 1,028 persons tagged as suspected cases and 31 are probables. Records show that 577 have recovered from the virus while 110 have died.
