THREE children died while their sibling and parents were injured in a fire that razed their house in Quezon City early yesterday morning.
The Quezon City Fire District identified the fatalities as Alvin, Reness Mae, and Princess Sofia, all surnamed de Rosario, aged four, eight and nine, respectively.
Injured were their 12-year-old sibling Akeisha Mae, their father, Bayani, and mother, Jude Marie. The couple’s four-month-old baby survived.
Probers said the fire broke out at the victims’ three-story house on No. 96 Kaliraya St., Bayanihan Alley in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City at around 4:15 a.m. Responding firefighters put out the fire at around 4:47 a.m.
Investigators said the fire broke out on the third floor of the house but are still investigating what caused the blaze.
Reports said the father and mother woke up when their room was already filled with smoke.
The father reportedly threw their four-month-old baby out of the window on the second floor to a neighbor, who safely caught the infant.
