THREE alleged drug dealers were killed while three others were arrested after a shootout with police operatives in Tandubas town in Tawi-Tawi last Sunday.
The fatalities were identified as Nurhamin Madnur, Moh’d Al Sangogot and a certain alias Billy while Alhamin Sangogot, Alman Ladjabassal and Adin Nur were taken into custody.
Tandubas policemen were sent to Barangay Kakoong last Sunday after receiving information from a concerned citizen who reported the presence of armed men in the barangay.
“With proper planning and coordination, police operatives trooped to the said area and found the suspects there,” PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba said.
Alba said the suspects opened fire at the police operatives, leading to a firefight that lasted for a few minutes.
“Interestingly, records will show that the suspects are notorious drug personalities,” said PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr.
“They became violent and our personnel had to apply necessary and reasonable force to defend themselves against the aggression,” Danao added.
