OPERATIVES of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) arrested three Chinese and A Vietnamese in Parañaque City and Taguig City for the recent kidnap-slaying of a Filipino-Chinese businessman.

In a statement released yesterday, the AKG identified three of the suspects as Bei Huimin, 30; Jielong Shen, 26; and Sun XiaoHui, 26, all Chinese, who were nabbed last Thursday afternoon.

The three were nabbed at a bank on Quirino Ave. in Parañaque City after withdrawing the ransom for the supposed release of the victim.

The fourth suspect, Vietnamese Hong Puc Le, 33, was arrested an hour later at the Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Le owns the bank account where the ransom money was deposited.

AKG said the victim, not identified, was kidnapped last March 18 in Quezon City. AKG personnel started an investigation after the victim’s family reported the kidnapping.

The victim’s family deposited P560,000 in ransom to the account of Le when the suspects reached out to them.

“However, while the investigation and backtracking were still ongoing, the kidnapped victim was killed by his captors and threw away his cadaver in Tanza, Cavite in the morning of March 22, 2023,” the AKG said.

Investigation identified the suspects during the investigation, leading to the conduct of the successful operation.

AKG director Brig. Gen. Rodolfo Castil Jr. commended the AKG personnel and Parañaque City policemen who helped in the operation for their “untiring efforts and unwavering dedication,” leading to the suspects’ arrest.

“The arrest of these individuals is an important step forward in our efforts to dismantle their group and protect our communities. Rest assured that justice will spring out and we will get to the bottom of this,” said Castil.
