POLICE operatives arrested in Paranaque City last Sunday three Chinese who allegedly illegally detained a fellow Chinese who failed to settle his debt.
PNP chief Dionardo Carlos announced yesterday the arrest of the three suspects, identified as Kevin Shi, Lu Shunguang, and Cau Jun.
Their victim, Ding Fengfeng, 35, was also rescued by policemen during the operation in Barangay Tambo.
Initial report from the Tambo police sub-station the operation was conducted after concerned citizens sought police assistance to rescue the victim.
“The call for help was quickly resolved accordingly due to the active response of our police personnel. Proper documentation and disposition of the suspects are underway,” said Carlos.
A statement issued by PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba said the victim “was illegally detained by the suspects for not paying his debt.”
It was not clear when the victims started detaining the victim.
Alba said the suspects “demanded money amounting to P5 million in exchange of his liberty.”
