IMMIGRATION officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport recently turned back three foreign sex offenders for being undesirable aliens.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the three — Americans Jeffrey William Hewitt, Charles David James Weatherall and Momodu Wurie Jalloh — were barred from the country last week when they sought admission as tourists.
First to be intercepted was Hewitt, who was denied entry last April 5 upon his arrival from Incheon, South Korea.
Tansingco said Hewitt was convicted on two counts of child abduction and sexually luring a 16-year-old girl and one count of sexual exploitation of a 12-year-old child in 2012 by a court in Illinois
Weatherall was barred entry after he arrived via an Air China flight from Beijing.
