TWENTY Philippine posts abroad have conducted their Final Testing and Sealing (FTS) of election equipment ahead of the start of the month-long overseas voting for the May 2022 polls on April 10.
In separate notices, 20 Philippine embassies and consulates announced they have conducted the mandatory FTS since April 1.
The 20 posts are in Melbourne, Nagoya, Sydney, Taipei, Bangkok, Brunei, Macau, Singapore, Rome, Barcelona, London, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait, Manama, Muscat, Honolulu, Agana, San Francisco, and Vancouver.
The FTS activities were conducted by the Special Boards of Election Inspectors (SBEI). All candidates, political parties, party-list organizations, and accredited citizen’s arm were invited to observe the FTS.
The final testing is being conducted to test the accuracy of the VCMs ahead of the start of overseas voting.
Once the testing is successfully done, the VCMs will be sealed and will only be opened at the start of the voting period.
The overseas voting period will start on April 10, 2022 (Sunday) and end on May 9, 2022 (Monday).
