TWO civilian employees of the PNP Academy in Cavite are in hot water for use and sale of illegal drugs.
PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas yesterday ordered the filing of criminal and administrative charges against band member Zepther Samonte and mess hall worker Diosdado Reyes.
Zamonte tested positive for illegal drugs during a recent mandatory drug test conducted among cadets, uniformed and civilian personnel of the academy based in Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.
Reyes was found to have supplied the drugs used by Cadet 1st Class John David Macagba, who earlier tested for drug use. Macagba is also facing charges.
Citing a report from PNPA director Brig. Gen. Rhoderick Armamento, Sinas said Macagba admitted that he bought P3,000 worth of suspected shabu from Reyes.
In a statement, PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana said: “Both civilian employees are now the subject of a deeper investigation by PNP authorities.”
Usana said Sinas has “ordered criminal and administrative cases filed against all personnel involved.”
Meanwhile, policemen arrested a suspected drug pusher identified as Noel Miranda, 28, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lumil in Silang, Cavite on Tuesday night. Miranda yielded two small heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu.
